Empowering Every Child to Reach Their Full Potential
We believe every child deserves to be understood, valued, and guided to find their own voice.
Compassionate Speech Therapy
Talk in the Nest is a personalized speech and language therapy practice that empowers children with communication challenges. Whether your child is navigating a speech delay or a medical diagnosis, we attune to their needs and integrate therapy into everyday routines
How We Help
Our experienced and skilled speech-language therapist meets you “in the nest.” Whichever service location you choose, we offer speech therapy and parent coaching to help you and your child build confidence, connection and communication.
In-Home Speech Therapy
Speech therapy will help your child express themselves and authentically communicate with others. We support children in their natural environment, where we focus on functional words and phrases that you use at home every day.
Nature-Based Speech Therapy
Nature-based speech therapy embeds your child’s speech or language work into outdoor play. Whether we’re going on a leaf hunt, reading a seasonal book, or playing “house” in a stick fort, time in nature promotes wellbeing and connection.
Virtual Therapy & Parent Coaching
We will meet on a secure virtual platform for our convenient teletherapy and parent coaching sessions. Parent coaching will guide and empower you to be your child’s best advocate. You will feel confident about helping your child thrive.
What Makes Us Different?
At Talk in the Nest, we know every child is unique—and their therapy should be too. Our trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming approach builds on each child’s strengths to nurture growth and confidence. Together with parents, we create a supportive space where children can feel connected, capable, and empowered to find their own voice.
Meet Erika King,
MA, CCC-SLP, LSLS Cert AVT
Owner | Speech-Language Pathologist | Listening and Spoken Language Specialist
For more than 16 years, I’ve helped children find their voices. I specialize in supporting kids with speech, language and hearing challenges—guiding them to listen, talk, and thrive. Through personalized therapy and parent coaching, I empower families to build meaningful, lasting communication skills.
Talk in the Nest was created from both my professional experience and journey as a mother. Throughout my career I’ve supported children with a wide range of communication needs, with a special focus on children who are d/Deaf or hard of hearing. This work has taught me the power of coaching parents to become their child’s first and most important communication partner. Becoming a parent myself deepened my appreciation of each child’s unique strengths and joy of nurturing the whole child—their communication, curiosity, and confidence.
As a lifelong learner, I continue to integrate training in speech-language pathology, auditory-verbal therapy, nature-based education, and trauma-informed practices to meet each child where they are.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me spending time with my husband and two children, exploring the outdoors and tending to our garden. I look forward to learning more about your family and walking this journey with you.
